Action/Call
FACCE ERA-GAS First call, 2016Agriculture contributes to greenhouse gases emissions (and also carbon sequestration) in a variety of ways. For example, fertilisers are converted into nitrous oxide (N2O), cattle produce methane (CH4) and tillage techniques lead to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The first call of FACCE ERA-GAS focused on improving national GHG inventories and monitoring, reporting and verification of emissions; refining and facilitating the implementation of GHG mitigation technologies; state of the art production systems that are profitable and improve food and forest biomass production while reducing GHG emissions; and assessment of policy and economic measures to support emissions reductions across the farm-to-fork and forest-to consumer chain.
This call belongs to the FACCE-JPI 2010-2020 - Core theme 5 - Mitigation of climate change.
