Action/Call
SusCrop ERA-NET Second CallCurrently, the global production of crops requires excessive amounts of water, pesticides, chemicals and energy. New ways of sustainable crop production have to be explored in order to increase productivity and to improve the quality of crops whilst simultaneously reducing the use of chemicals.
The second call of SusCrop focuses on the enhancement of new and/or predictive breeding technologies and the development of new genotypes leading to new phenotypes towards the release of improved crop varieties that are capable to adapt to future changes in environmental and climatic conditions; the development and exploitation of integrated pest and crop management methods and practices; the improvement of resource-use efficiency of cropping systems by agroecological approaches to increase the efficiency of nutrient, water and energy utilisation; and the investigations on agricultural crops as part of an ecosystem.
This call belongs to the FACCE-JPI 2010-2020 - Core theme 4 - Adaptation to climate change and FACCE-JPI 2020-onwards - Core theme 2 - Sustainable & resilient agriculture.
