Nicolas Tinois, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), GermanyIn line with the European Bioeconomy Strategy, better use of biomass and waste from plant and animal terrestrial and aquatic production systems is a fundamental aim to fulfil human needs while preserving natural resources and biodiversity. This call focused on spatial targeting of land use to increase biomass production and transformation; developing marketing strategies taking into account the flexibility, the trade-offs and the risks associated with the emergence of new markets; and the sustainable intensification of integrated food and non-food systems of agriculture. This action belongs to the FACCE-JPI 2010-2020 - Core theme 2 - Environmentally sustainable intensification of agricultural systems.
